Ascension Volcan Villarica ( Chile)

Year 2005 Luis, Sandra and I on a trip to Patagonia relanpago Argentia, and we happened to go to climb the Villarica Volcano, Villarica ....

Volcano is 2,847 meters high, is active and the crater is only 200 meters. diameter, presents a lava lake of 1,250 º C with permanent vents and is covered by a vast glacier 40 km ² which is located at the northwest end of a remarkable chain of volcanoes along the Andes volcanoes, El Mocho, Quetrupillánm Quinquilil and Lanin. Has 59 historical eruptions and the largest of this century were in the years 1908, 1920, 1948, 1949, 1963, 1971 and 1984-85.



Villarica is one of the few active volcanoes in the Andes that can be visited
